Anderson to Real Madrid?
Very good player but an offer of £65m is pretty much double your money in a season. I'd be tempted to sell for that sort of money.

'Real want Anderson if Hazard bid fails'

Spurs have done some good business but they owe a huge portion of where they are now to blind luck and being forced to play Harry Kane through injuries when they were trying to get rid of him because they didn't think he was good enough.

It will transpire that Lazio have a 50% sell on fee !

Re: Anderson to Real Madrid?
>>> Absolutely untrue they spent the Bale Money on a few players who were all complete shit except for Eriksen maybe Lamela who has been average at best

No. They spread the risk from one player who may or may not have progressed, instead on a range of players who contributed to a higher general level of squad, and are either still there or moved on for good fees. All part of the general approach of regeneration while turning a profit. Only Soldado was a clear mistake.

Chadli for example - in for £7m, reasonable for them, sold for £13m (£6m+ profit) the same window they bring in Wanyama for less. That's regenerating the side for profit - it's completely missing the point to say Chadli isn't as good as Bale, or that because he isn't still there he was a 'failure'.

We don't have to be Spurs fans to admit that it has worked fantastically well for them. There are aspects of it we could learn from if we could swallow our pride a little.

That post is what confirms that V is a Spurs fan on a wind up OR so thick he picked the wrong club to try and support with his stupid plans on how to run a club.

>>> Yep coz spurs really invested the Gareth bale money wisely .... not

A common misconception imo. The Bale sale funded a period where Spurs were able to bring in Alli, Eriksen, Dier, Alderweireld, Tripper, Son etc while actually turning a profit in the transfer market. They built the squad that probably should have won the league by now.

They actually made a bunch of errors as well, but you can do that and still progress if you spread your risk properly.

Re: Anderson to Real Madrid?
I think they're happy enough that the sale of Coutinho funded Van Dijk, Fabinho, Keita etc. As a trade it's been fantastic for them.

Not that I think it's genuine, but the question isn't whether we think Anderson is any good, but what a club can do with £65m. It would likely more than double our budget - a game-changing amount of money that, spent correctly, could really change the future of the club. It's so short-sighted and counter-productive to say 'The player is good, so we should never sell' - a losing mindset.

I would say Coutinho is what Liverpool have missed most this season.

Short term hits, in service of long-term progress which everyone can see the evidence of. In Coutinho's case there wasn't even a hit.

Be very very surprised if RM will go for Anderson.... don't get me wrong he had a couple of decent months but last 10 games or so he's been average at best... he'll be here next season

"Liverpool and Spurs showed that shrewd selling is an essential part of progress up the table."

Unfortunately for you, the STATS suggest otherwise.

Both Liverpool and Spurs went had worse seasons after they sold Bale and Suarez.

>>> Forget about the money, selling your best players doesnt work . this aint football manager where you check the stats and go buy a replacment ..

Actually that is just what you do. Liverpool and Spurs showed that shrewd selling is an essential part of progress up the table. Sell for profit, buy for value.

I distinctly remember the legend that is Alfredo Di Stefano introducing Faubert and looking at him as if to say, what the merry fuck have we got here?

Re: Anderson to Real Madrid?
I'd snap their hand off for £70m as he does seem inconsistent but could also se him going over there in that team and in that league where nobody defends and absolutely tearing it apart and us looking like we got completely swindled

Every time there’s an international break we get agent-led speculation.

No way is this happening, but if it was I would take £80m.

Re: Anderson to Real Madrid?
Agent shit. Again.

Still, if they want to swap for Bale?
